Boomerang allows Boomerang Managers to carry out a range of common tasks on the frontend, and without logging in to your site’s administration pages.
The administration panel can be found on the left of a Boomerang, or below it on smaller devices. It is only visible to Boomerang Managers. It is split into sections. At the top, a range of tools to allow you to modify the Boomerang. These include:
- Status Modifier – use this to change the status of the Boomerang. The change is immediate, and you will see it reflected in the Boomerang to the right.
- Visibility – use this to make the Boomerang private. You can use this if the Boomerang is inappropriate, spam or if you just want to remove it from public view. The Boomerang will lock, be hidden from the public, and will display a banner so managers know it is for their eyes only.
- At the bottom is the Actions Panel. These quickly achieve an objective, for example:
- Merge – merge this Boomerang with another. Explained further here.
- Mark as Bug – click this to mark the Boomerang as a bug. This must be enabled for the board. Especially useful for software businesses, this button hides the Boomerang and adds a banner explaining that it is a bug (rather than a feature request, for example). You can use hooks to then trigger additional actions, such as creating a GitHub issue.
- Edit – click this to edit the Boomerang. For site administrators, this will take you to the backend, allowing you to make more advanced edits than can be achieved using the Edit link under the Boomerang content.
- Delete – this will immediately delete the Boomerang
We aim to increase the functionality of the administration panel on a regular basis.
